A BILL to amend and reenact section one, article ten, chapter six
of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, relating to prohibiting a public official from employing his or her spouse, parents, spouse's parents or children at public expense.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That section one, article ten, chapter six of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, be amended and reenacted to read as follows:
ARTICLE 10. EMPLOYMENT OF SPOUSE BY STATE OFFICIAL OR EMPLOYEE.
§6-10-1. Employment of spouse at public expense prohibited.
The employment of his or her wife spouse, parents, spouse's parents or children at public expense by any official or employee of the state is expressly prohibited.



NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to prohibit state officials or employees from employing their spouse, parents, spouse'ss parents or children at the state's expense.
